Kristine Varkony, a multifaceted journalist, is the Traffic Anchor at NBC4 WCMH. With nearly a decade of experience in news, she has worked her way up the ranks at NBC4, holding various positions such as producer, reporter, and digital anchor. Her passion for journalism led her to graduate with a degree in the field from The Ohio State University. Kristine’s journey began on a farm in rural Jefferson County, Ohio, where she grew up. She attended Steubenville Catholic Schools before interning at NBC4 during her senior year of college. After graduation, she returned to her hometown market, starting her journalism career at NBC4’s sister station, WTRF 7News. During her tenure as Digital Anchor at NBC4, Kristine played a pivotal role in shaping the station’s online presence. Her efforts were recognized when NBC4i.com received the Best Digital Presence award from the Associated Press. Additionally, she was honored as a 10 Under 10 Young Alumni by Ohio State Sorority and Fraternity Life and named a Nexstar Digital Content Influencer. Kristine’s work has taken her on exciting journeys, from New York City to California and South Carolina, where she contributed to special projects and stories for NBC4. As a true Columbus enthusiast, she enjoys exploring the city, attending events, and trying out new restaurants. Her love for the outdoors, exercise classes, and travel keeps her energized.
