[REBROADCAST FROM June 24, 2022] The 1999 World Cup-winning U.S Women's soccer team has been foundational for millions of girls playing soccer in the 21st century, and for the growth of the sport's popularity in the United States. Briana Scurry was the goalie for this team, and she was also the first black and openly gay woman to ever represent her country on the soccer field. Now, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Title IX and Pride month, Scurry has written a new memoir, My Greatest Save: The Brave, Barrier-Breaking Journey Of a World-Champion Goalkeeper. She joins us to discuss her story.
