Director Kogonada Discusses Film 'After Yang'
All Of It - A podcast by WNYC
The new film "After Yang" tells the story of a father (Colin Ferrell) reconnecting with his wife (Jodie Turner-Smith) and daughter after his daughter's closest companion, an android named Yang, malfunctions. "After Yang" comes from South Korean director Kogonada, known for his previous film "Columbus," a similarly complicated, but heartfelt story, though not with the sci-fi twist. Kogonada also directed episodes of the upcoming "Pachinko" TV series adaptation of Min Jin Lee's critically acclaimed book of the same name. He joins us to discuss the film and his current projects.
