Karen Dalton was a fixture of the 1960s Greenwich Village folk scene and shared the stage with Bob Dylan. But because she released only two albums and died at the age of 55, her legacy has been obscured relative to her peers. The new documentary, “Karen Dalton: In My Own Time,” attempts to shine a light on her life and career, through rediscovered material, footage, and journals, and interviews with artists like Nick Cave and Vanessa Carlton who were influenced by Dalton. Filmmakers Robert Yapkowitz and Richard Peete join us to discuss. The documentary opens in theaters October 1, and will be available digitally on November 16.
