In the wake of 9/11, Dennis Johnson and Valerie Merians decided to form a publishing company. Soon after, they published Poetry After 9/11: An Anthology of New York Poets, a collection featuring various poets. Now, the volume will be re-released in honor of the 20th anniversary of the attacks. Johnson and Merians join us to discuss the collection along with poet Nancy Mercado, whose work is featured in the volume. As we approach the 20th anniversary of 9/11, we are taking stock of how that day changed the world forever. We'll speak to leading scholar Evelyn Alsultany, who is an expert of the representation of Muslims in American media, about stereotypes about Muslims and how they are changing--or not. We continue 'Full Bio' with Peter Bergen, CNN national security analyst and the author of the book The Rise and Fall of Osama bin Laden. Today, we discuss the 9/11 attacks, and what the Clinton and Bush administrations did and did not know before September 11, and what they did and did not do. As part of our week of coverage commemorating the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, WQXR chief content officer and senior vice president Ed Yim joins us to discuss the music that has become connected to the day and made in response to it. Dindga McCannon, an artist born and raised in Harlem and the Bronx, joins us to discuss her solo exhibition, In Plain Sight, at Fridman Gallery at 169 Bowery. The exhibition features fifteen of her works throughout her almost five-decade career and will run from September 8 to October 17.
