The 2022 Men's World Cup kicks off this Sunday in Qatar, with the host nation facing off against Ecuador. This iteration of the tournament has not been without controversy, whether it's briberies, FIFA corruption, and Qatar's human rights violations, including the deaths of over 6,500 migrant workers while the stadiums were being built. But, at the same time, the World Cup is a spectacle, with more than a billion people around the world watching, including at the many beloved local soccer bars around New York City. Roger Bennett, founder of the Men In Blazers Media Network, and co-author of the new book, Gods of Soccer: The Pantheon of the 100 Greatest Soccer Players (According to Us), joins for the first installment of our month of World Cup coverage to help preview the tournament and take your calls for your predictions and questions.
