Cara Cusumano, director of the Tribeca Film Festival, joins us with a preview of this year’s festival, which runs from June 9 to June 20. Jen Chung, executive editor and co-founder of Gothamist, joins to give updates on the stories her team is following this week. Celebrated chef Peter Hoffman joins us to discuss What's Good?: A Memoir in Fourteen Ingredients. The book recounts Hoffman's professional training, his years owning and operating Savoy, the famed downtown restaurant that pioneered farm-to-table dining, and some of his favorite of farmer’s market staples. A new podcast titled, The Turning: The Sisters Who Left, tells the story of the women who joined Mother Teresa's religious order, the Missionaries of Charity. The podcast takes listeners behind the walls of the fiercely private order where sisters took vows of poverty, chastity, obedience, and public service. We speak with host Erika Lantz as well as Kelli Dunham, who was with the Missionaries of Charity for two years and now works in the Brooklyn school system. As summer arrives, many are feeling self-conscious about weight they may have gained during the pandemic. The diet industry is seeing a boom as people seek to lose what some are calling “the quarantine fifteen.” But body acceptance advocate, influencer, and author Katie Sturino wants to encourage more people to be kinder to themselves, and to their bodies. She joins us to take calls from listeners who may be struggling with body image, and to discuss her new book, Body Talk: How to Embrace Your Body and Start Living Your Best Life.
