The offer includes a general wage increase of $5000 back dated to November of last year. A 4% across the board wage increase from the first of September this year; that's not backdated and another 4% kicking in from July next year. However, police will lose other benefits like heath checks, allowances for detectives, and leave accumulation and the deal will be locked in for 3 rather than the usual 2.
