In the United States, the 4th of July holiday weekend is usually spent celebrating summer with friends and family, by BBQing and other outdoor activities. However, July 5, 1951 was not a celebration for Betty Jean Hansen and her family. On that day, the deadly obsession that Betty Jean's stepfather, Frank Walter Kristy had with her ended.
