Episode Eleven - Bumpy Ride - stars Boris Herrmann and Rosalin Kuiper from Leg 3 of the Southern Ocean during The Ocean Race 2023. Listen along as Boris Herrmann and Rosalin Kuiper overlap on their watch on day 25 of Leg 3 The Ocean Race. They are further from civilisation than almost any other human and they let us in to their private conversations, hopes, fears, the highs and lows. The pair start with rating their mood of the day. They are then talking about many of the technical elements of the boat and also what they have had to fix on the boat. The current weather conditions are also discussed and then they look at the feedback they have received so far on the podcast and what has been their favourite feedback so far. They are both distracted by the current bumpy seastate and the nose diving of the boat. The duo discuss the importance of the talking group they have created on board. That this is really helping your mood and your energy on board. Rosie mentioned that her friend in Nepal created a talking group for girls, that they can speak about the discrimination they face as women and that her friend has now started an honest talking group - and rate their mood that day, in the same way the boat does and this really opened up the talk. Rosie is happy that they can inspire people with their podcast. Boris mentions what else has been happening in their world and goes on to talk about Zurich's Planet Hero Award were environmental initiatives are awarded prize money to continue for the next three years - you can enter through their website.
