At the 1787 Constitutional Convention, the delegates worked hard to create a document that would govern their new country.  At the end of the convention, they had a session titled “Leftover Business.” It was here in the “leftover business” section of the constitutional convention where the Vice Presidency was born.  Some say it has been leftover business ever since.
