He founded the monastery of St Herman of Alaska in Platina, California, where he was tonsured into monastic life would later publish a series of books which rendered accessible to modern youth the ancient wisdom and life experience of the Holy Fathers of Orthodoxy. A few weeks before his blessed repose (September 2, 1982) Fr Seraphim gave a homily on ‘Living the Orthodox Worldview’, in which he refers to the famous spiritual counsels of Fr Gheorghe Calciu, recounted in this recording, who was then imprisoned in Aiud. Unfortunately, they did not meet personally, with Fr Gheorghe being expelled to the USA only in 1985.Two Orthodox Chrustian apologists and true followers of Christ.
