Robert "Pip" Piparo has worn many hats over his career. From his early days as a volunteer firefighter to making it his career, the road has been full of challenges and accomplishments. Like many smaller departments, there is always a need to fill positions during a normal shift. These spots are often filled by the next in line or the senior man that must step up to fill the roll. "Acting" in a position presents many challenges for those who are pushed into this situation. From backstep to front seat, the transition in an individual company has unique challenges. A shift in the responsibility and the work associated with that position requires a different mindset. Thinking the company move up isn't a big deal... go from the engine's right seat to the driver's seat of a command vehicle. One minute you're deciding where the line needs to go, the next you're calling the shots of the entire incident. "Acting" presents a whole slue of things to discuss and points to ponder. Pip and Jeremy dive in and talk about these unique challenges that Brothers and Sisters face all over the country. Join the conversation!!
