132. Acting Up; The Temporary Shift Promotion - Robert "Pip" Piparo

Robert "Pip" Piparo has worn many hats over his career. From his early days as a volunteer firefighter to making it his career, the road has been full of challenges and accomplishments. Like many smaller departments, there is always a need to fill positions during a normal shift. These spots are often filled by the next in line or the senior man that must step up to fill the roll. "Acting" in a position presents many challenges for those who are pushed into this situation. From backstep to front seat, the transition in an individual company has unique challenges. A shift in the responsibility and the work associated with that position requires a different mindset.
