123. Get Off the Sideline - Jeff Kaplan

A picture of himself as a little boy sitting on the bumper of an engine hangs in Chief Jeff Kaplan's locker. A reminder of his childhood love for the fire service and his Grandfather's work ethic, this photo is a reminder about the responsibilities he has as the Chief of the Englewood, NJ Fire Department. Keeping his people healthy and protected is his mission and he will go to great lengths to make sure he does his part in that equation. Soliciting grants and finding creative ways to better both of his departments is the fuel for his work ethic. Working for his people, whether in the career or volunteer departments, Chief Kaplan recognizes the importance of his people. Without good people, we have nothing.
