114. Leaders Don't Need Rank - Gordon Pippin

National Fire Radio Podcast Platform - A podcast by Jeremy Donch

Firefighting is a lifestyle. It's that simple in the world of Gordon Pippin. With over 23 years in the fire service, not counting his childhood years of buffing, Gordon splits his time between his career with the Chester, PA Bureau of Fire and the Aston Township, PA Volunteer Fire Department. As he puts it, "My choke is wide open." Balancing the fire service and its' obligations isn't always easy but that's all he knows. It's not a job when you live and breathe it. Between both firehouses, his kids and some more firefighting fills his hours. Leaving a legacy is important. Reputation matters. Your disposition and love of the job matters. These are things that Gordon will not sacrifice. He is greatly passionate about his lifestyle and how it has impacted him and his family. His years of hands on has lead him to begin teaching and sharing his experience. As a street smart instructor for Eckert Fire Tactics, he loves working with the next generation while constantly striving to improve himself. Gordon's love of the job is evident in everything he offers. Continue the conversation, Gordon can be found of IG @gdpippin or email at [email protected].
