It's easy for James Denney to tell you why he's always smiling; "because I love my job". This hard charger from Del Rio, TX loves the fire service as much as he loves life. His passion for training runs deep from his early years when he was introduced to external training outside his own department. Not getting enough during his first few years, James knew that when he found like minded individuals elsewhere, riding backwards was the right job for him. Always pushing himself further, his love grew for training and the comradery and Brotherhood that comes along with weekends at conferences. Influencing the younger minds of today, he loves his 15 years riding the rear seat with the newer generation. Pushing them to be better and instilling a sense of pride and ownership of the job fuels him to keep pushing forward. Whether he's reading an article during some downtime or filthy after a first due job, it's simple for James, HE LOVES THE JOB!!
