The Sleeved Dietitian’s Book, The Easy Way Out interview with Jamie Mills

A podcast regular, Jamie Mills, known in the bariatric community as The Sleeved Dietitian, joined Kellie & Mel to discuss the release of her new book, The Easy Way Out - Why Bariatrics Itsn’t Cheating Obesity, It’s Treating It. Kellie, Mel, and Jamie talk about one of the most challenging habits to break for weight loss surgery patients: snacking. Jamie points out the differences between having a snack and snacking all day. She then dives into the importance of fueling our bodies well and focusing on what we can eat rather than restricting foods we think we can’t have. They discuss the lack of nutrition education and support for bariatric patients after the first six to twelve months and the overall society within our country. The ladies also examine weight bias in general and within the medical community. The passion Jamie has to help the bariatric community overcome stigmas, get the proper education and support, and learn how to fuel their bodies properly comes through in this episode loud and clear. She is a wealth of knowledge for the community and we are lucky to have her. Jamie Mills, The Sleeved Dietitan, is a weight loss surgery patient as well as a registered dietitian.
