14. Wacon piiritys

Instagram & Facebook: Piinan Kirous Sähköposti: [email protected] Vuonna 1993 Wacossa Texasissa Yhdysvaltain oikeusministeriön alainen virasto ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, tobacco, firearms and explosives) oli tutkinut Daavidin Oksa nimisen uskonnollisen ryhmän toimintaa jo kuukausien ajan. Tutkimuksien myötä virasto päätti suorittaa daavidilaisten asuinrakennukseen eli Mount Carmel Centeriin ratsian. Ratsiassa kuitenkin kaikki meni pieleen ja sen epäonnistuminen johti 51 päivää kestäneeseen piiritykseen. Wacon piiritys on yksi modernin ajan historian kiistellyimmistä ja tuhoisimmista piiritystilanteista.
