Currently virtually all of our power comes from grid and Australia is one of the most expensive countries for electricity in the developed world. The Grid is sized for peak demand, (typically when the kids get home from school, and when people get home from work) but power stations can’t just switch off when not needed so power at peak times and cheaper at off peak times (like overnight when fewer people are using it).The effects are twofold, grid powered electricity goes up, greater economies of scale for solar drives price of solar down. This is referred to as the “death spiral” for coal. This is a worry for the government as they need to re-coup the 4.5 billion in infrastructure.Tesla PowerWallShould you get a Tesla home battery? Will Tesla’s house battery pay off for gigafactory?Tesla unveils battery storage system for home, business and utility useWorld’s first microalgae facade goes ‘live'How the Tesla battery will benefit marijuana growers
