HPE is barreling ahead with its GreenLake hybrid cloud strategy by adding new features including a new cloud optimization platform called Lighthouse, a secure attestation plan dubbed Project Aurora, and an option to get CPU resources on a pay-by-use consumption model. Aruba Networks announced products including new switches, the addition of authentication capabilities to Aruba Central, and an IoT dashboard in Central. Microsoft announces Windows 11 with native Teams included, and takes a shot at Apple’s business model for in-app purchases. The US government says old-school security techniques could have thwarted leaks from SolarWinds’ compromised software, and a strange iOS bug can disable your iPhone’s Wi-Fi. VMware announces a fix for serious vulnerability in its Carbon Black security software, and Intel snaps up Stanford professor and influential startup founder Nick McKeown to run its Network and Edge group.
