We’re taking a short break from releasing new episodes for the month of August. We’ll be back with new interviews in September. But don’t despair! We’ve asked a few friends to pick some of their favorite episodes to re-broadcast in the meantime. This week’s pick comes from our Executive Producer, Emily Tate.
Emily Tate’s Pick
It is hard to choose a single episode as my favorite, so I went with Lisa Long’s episode on Killing Zombie Features because it has really stuck with me. I actually listened to this episode multiple times when it came out, and there is just so much truth in it that I have experienced myself. I think any of us that have worked on an older product really understand the weight that Zombie Features put on the development process and the joy of finally killing one. The advice Lisa gives in this episode is advice I wish I had earlier when I really needed to navigate the corporate struggles that come when you try to take features away, even if they’re terrible.
I can also credit this episode with another impact on me. I have been recovering from a recent foot surgery and needing to ease my way into activity again. So this interview with Lisa inspired me to check out Zombies, Run! I can confirm – it is a great way to motivate yourself to get out there and be active. I always want to know what happens next in the adventure!
As an added bonus, we actually created a transcript of this episode as well. You can check it out here!
