Ep 13: Dr. Julia Nordgren Will Make You Like Cooking for Your Family (Again)
We Gotta Talk: News, Issues, and Beauty for Women - A podcast by Sonni Abatta

Dr. Julia Nordgren is a pediatrician who did something kinda crazy: One day she decided to put her job on hold and leave to study at the Culinary Institute of America for a year. With her boys and husband on one coast and herself on the other, Dr. Julia learned the art of cooking, and soon she wanted to share that passion with others. Having already spent her career in medicine working with kids who needed to turn their health around, Dr. Julia knew how to counsel families counsel their children on healthy food. But with her new venture, her (gorgeous) cookbook called "The New Family Table," she's now showing us all how to do it, step by step. Still working at her medical practice, Dr. Julia also now spends her time educating families about how to choose healthy options for their table, daily. In this episode we talk about: + Why healthy eating is harder for families than ever + How to conquer time challenges and still cook well + Why it's important to follow your calling, even if it's logistically difficult + Healthy eating for kids and teenagers + How to raise kids with good body image By the way, my favorites from her book are the Brazilian Chicken & Rice Soup and the super-simple (but INCREDIBLE) "Benjamin" Broccoli. AMAZING. And I'm also giving away two copies of her new cookbook!
